Hi, please take a moment to hear my plea.
I am a widow with 5 children and 3 grand children. For the past 11 years we have survived off our Survivors Benefits. But since my oldest son turned 18 and was taken off the benefits and then he went on disibility because he is legally disabled and took months to process, S.S. is now saying I was over paid and they decided to deny us our benefits for this month and partial for Jan. as well.
This has never happened to us before and I don't know where to turn. We rely on these benefits for absolutly everything, our Mortgage, car payments, car insurance, food, all utilities (gas to heat & cook (due to be shut off on us on the 16th of this month), electric (also due to be shut off on us on the 16th of this month), phone, cable, internet (phone, cable & net are all together and due to be shut off any day now) & water).
We also rely on the benefits for gas to drive. I have to pick up my son and daughter 3 times a week from JROTC after school and that same son also is in the Army Reserve and goes for training once a week and it's not close to where we live so i have to pick him up from there as well.
I just don't know how I can face my children on Christmas morning and see the look of disappointment on their faces. I am not asking for much as I have faith and know God will get us through this. But any help at all will be so appreceiated!
I have tried churches, United way, Salvation Army, tv stations and radio stations, I even wrote my Senetor and Congessman, but nothing at all. I may be getting help from a friends boss with just my Electric bill, because thats all they can help with, but anything is better then nothing.
My son that is in the Army Reserve only wants a mountain bike for Christmas, so if thats all I can get out of this then that will be awesome! Please help my children have a warm and happy Christmas this year (Our first year without a Christmas) The Children don't deserve this torture.
Thank you so very much,
God Bless & Happy Holidays!
